The water tower is still there, near Kitchen In the Desert
By 1962 the motel offered air conditioning and the yellow “MOTEL” sign that still exists today.
The Historical Society sent us this business card. Room #4 was even in demand then.
We found these signs on the premises. You’ll know why they called it the Sunset Motel, when you see the sunset!
This was the most recent incarnation of the place, from whence we started the restoration. Check out the toothpaste green trim.
I think it used to flash, but we don’t have that option going at the moment.
